Just picked up a Sansui AU-8500, the little bro to the 9500. 10 less watts per channel and on the same chassis. Wow, yeah, definitely an authoritative sound. It never sounds like it is reaching and the massive heat sinks always stay cool. Awesome sound. No other amp I have had makes me want to listen as much.
I picked up in a trade with a good friend the AU-9500..Being an audio enthusiast and having had many many amps including high-end and tube..I am impressed with the build quality of this amp and its sound..Very musical and enjoyable..Its power transformer is bigger than I have seen in many well regarded high power audiophile amps..Severely over-built..All boards are steel encased..Sansui obviously went for broke on this amp as I haven't seen anything from them since put together so well.
